210 rooms, pool, sauna, valet parking, restaurant, free room safe, hi-speed Internet access in most rooms, lanais on some (rooms have been expanded at the lanais' expense). A 25-story 1970s building. Great curb appeal. The lobby is ornate and expensive with marble, gold, crystal, etc., and the bar is rich and expensive-looking. But when you get to your standard category room, it's so...standard. (The deluxe and superior gold are much nicer.) The quality of the rooms seems to get better the higher up you get. This hotel doesn't feel Hawaiian; it feels more Vegas. It's a looong walk to the beach--about 15 minutes. The room views facing the rear of the building are preferable. About half of the rooms are condos, and they have access to a larger pool and spa hotel guests cannot use. Parking is $18 (valet only), and local calls are a pricey $1.50. Rooms (342-350 sq. ft.) are $195-$360, suites (711-1,244 sq. ft.) are $700-$1,300. Discounts are usually easy to get and make the prices more palatable.
