The best selling guide to O'ahu... Oahu Revealed |
Ilikai Waikiki Hotel (800) 245-4524 or (808) 949-3811 1777 Ala Moana Blvd. ![]() ![]() 783 rooms, pool, spa, fitness room, room service, valet parking, 3 restaurants, shops, 23 conference rooms, business center, coffee makers with free coffee daily, free room safes, hi-speed Internet access in rooms. Two towers from the 1960s; the tallest is 25 stories. A very tropical, very Hawaiian feeling resort. Lots of plants, waterfalls and other Hawaiian touches. Since it's next to the Ala Wai Yacht Harbor, a nautical sense also permeates the resort. It's not on Waikiki Beach; it's a 5-minute walk along the shoreline. The rooms are nicely appointed and designed, and the resort is immaculate. Some two-bedroom units have complete kitchens and others have kitchenettes. Rooms either a tub or a shower (which are very large). At press time they were turning the Yacht Harbor Tower into timeshares. Viewers of old tv shows will remember this as the place where Jack Lord stood on the roof in the opening of Hawai'i Five-O. We gave it a gem because the ambiance is so effective, and the resort seems well integrated into its location. They have a large monkeypod tree planted by local surfing legend, Duke Kahanamoku. It's so precious to them they punched a hole through the parking garage to accommodate it. Parking is $25 for valet only. Rooms (600 sq. ft.) are $345-$405, 2/2s (1,100 sq. ft.) are $1,150-$1,725. Don't let these rack rates scare you off--they have tons of packages. |
