The best selling guide to O'ahu... Oahu Revealed "Your Hawaii guide books are without a doubt, the best of their genre that we have read. Despite the fact that my "Kauai-girl" wife and I have been making annual visits to The Islands for over 30 years, your guide books provide us with details and information about places, restaurants and other stuffs that we never considered." |
Ala Moana Hotel (800) 367-6025 or (808) 955-4811 410 Atkinson Dr. ![]() 1,143 rooms, pool, free state-of-the-art fitness room, steam room, sauna, room service, 4 restaurants, 5 shops, business center, 8 conference rooms, valet parking, coffee maker with free coffee daily, hi-speed Internet access in rooms, Wi-Fi in lobby, lanais on most. There are two towers--the 10-story Kona and the 30-story Waikiki. The resort was renovated in 2006 and rooms are being sold off as a condotel, but decor is consistent. The room colors and furnishings are relaxing and modern, not overly Hawaiian in feel, though. The property is just outside Waikiki next door to the Ala Moana Shopping Center. Much of their customer base is business travelers and convention attendees. (The convention center is very close by.) Rooms are smaller and less expensive in the Kona Tower and have no lanais. It's a pretty long walk into Waikiki and its beaches and restaurants, but it's also quicker when you're looking to hop on the freeway. In all, you need to decide if the location trade-offs are worth it. Rooms (245-335 sq. ft.) are $229-$329. Suites (559 sq. ft.) are $429-$579. |
