Updates To 3rd Edition
It happens every time. The day after we send the disks off to the printers for our brand new edition, somebody changes something that directly affects what we write in the book. Several times we've e-mailed these changes to the printers (it's our only chance to yell that classic publisher line, "Stop the presses!") but after the presses roll we're left shaking our heads, saying, "Yeah, we know that changed. We'll correct that in our next printing." The internet is the next best thing to yanking back all the books in print and scribbling in the changes that always occur.
The updates below are for the 3rd edition of Oahu Revealed. There are no longer any updates available to the 2nd edition.
Did you know? At Wizard Publications we continually strive to bring you the most up-to-date and accurate information on the islands. Mokulele airlines was bought by go! (page 22). Please call them directly if you have reservations at 1-888-435-9462.
Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve (page 63) has raised entrance fees to $7.50 per person. Children under 13 and Hawaii residents (with proof of residency) free. Parking is still $1 per car.
Waiola Shave Ice (in Dining chapter) has moved to 3113 Mokihana Street (near Kapahulu Avenue).
Before we could even get books on the shelves, two long-time hotels closed. Hawaiiana Hotel (page 272) closed on Nov 2, 2009. The La'ie Inn (page 295) closed on Nov 1, 2009. We wish them both a fond aloha.
The Maile Sky Court (page 271) management was taken over by Aqua Hotels. The new toll free number is 1-866-406-2782.
