Maui Revealed: "We just arrived home from a wonderful 10 days in Maui, and your book made it all possible!! "Maui Revealed" is really a fantastic book. The description of beaches, maps, adventures and pictures were just great. The good humor it was written with make it exceptional, and it reads like a good novel... Your web reviews helped us to find our perfect place... Thanks for helping to plan the Ultimate Vacation! Everyone we know who is going to Maui has your book. (Sorry that you guys have such a boring job.)" |
Wailea Marriott (888) 859-8262 or (808) 879-1922 3700 Wailea Alanui Dr. ![]() 546 rooms, 5 pools (including an adult pool and a keiki pool), 2 spas, 2 restaurants, coffee makers with free coffee daily, free laptop safes, free 24-hour fitness center, day spa, room service, 21 conference rooms, 24-hour business center, hi-speed Internet access in rooms, Wi-Fi in lobby, laundry facilities, shops, lu‘au. The day spa is stunning with nice treatment rooms, but the guest rooms felt a bit sterile, and the modern decor didn’t work for us. The grounds are spacious with rolling green lawns (no high-rise buildings) and never feel crowded. They actively seek the family market (with a separate kids’ pool area with a water playground) and the group market (with gobs of conference facilities). Marriott is the only major Wailea resort that's not on a beach. (Both corners of the property are adjacent to beaches, however.) We were impressed with their view designations. Many "garden view" rooms have impressive ocean views, and many of the "ocean view" rooms would be sold as oceanfront elsewhere. Their rocky shore does make for great candlelight dinners (or weddings) by the ocean. Their adults-only pool is nice with gazebos surrounded on three sides by water. They rent for $100 a day, but if you wait til after 2 p.m., you can get one for $50 and stay until 7 p.m. and watch the sunset. If you have small kids, the exciting playground pool with sandy beach and 3 waterslides is closest to buildings 5 and 7. They have a mandatory $25 per day “activities pass” for items such as local and mainland calls, self-parking, discounts to onsite restaurants and spa, etc. Valet parking is $18. Rooms (533 sq. ft.) are $350$825, suites (6032,473 sq. ft.) are $400$3,250. Lots of packages are available, so we doubt you’ll pay this rate. |
