168 units, air conditioning, pool, keiki pool, spa, sauna, bbq, hi-speed Internet access, elevator, shuffleboard, lanais on all. An oddly named resort. They're much closer to the road than the sea, but it's probably tougher to sell rooms at a place called Village by the Road. Rooms are average sized (795 sq. ft. including lanai for 1/1s, 900-1,100 for 2/2s). Views are partial ocean at best for most. Floor plan is a bit odd, but the bedrooms are on the ocean side. The buildings have an very institutional feel, and overall the units could really use an upgrade, in our opinion. Resort is on a yucky beach next to a yucky creek, and to get to the ocean you have a long walk across their scraggly lawn. Studios (433 sq. ft.) are $120-$145, 1/1s are $140-$160, 2/2s are $185-$245. 4- or 7-night minimum. No credit cards.
