168 units, air conditioning, pool, keiki pool, spa, sauna, bbqs, hi-speed Internet access, elevator, shuffleboard. An oddly named resort. They’re much closer to the road than the sea, but it’s probably tougher to sell rooms at a place called Village by the Road. Views are partial ocean at best for most, and higher floors are better due to the hilly area before the beach. Floor plan is a bit strange, but the bedrooms are on the ocean side. Overall, the units could really use an upgrade, and many had a musty smell, in our opinion. The buildings have a very institutional, dreary feel, and on this visit were badly in need of cleaning and painting. The resort is on a yucky beach next to a yucky creek, and to get to the ocean you have a long walk across their scraggly lawn. Uhh, why are you here? Studios (686 sq. ft.) are $120–$165, 1/1s (799 sq. ft.) are $140–$210, 2/2s (745–975 sq. ft.) are $185–$275. 4-night minimum.
