"Was very anxious to see the sights and live the adventures that you recommended. I was not disappointed. To the contrary. Your book was spot on in every aspect that we tested and guided us to probably the best vacation our family has experienced. I have and will continue to recommend your book, as required reading before a visit to the islands. We truly do appreciate the work that you put into your books and the honest critiques. We knew we had something good, when we spoke to the locals, told them that we had read your book and most replied that they use your book, too. Now, that is a real testimony!"

162 units, 4 pools, spa, air conditioning (in most), bbqs, daily maid service, coffee makers with free daily coffee, free room safes, 24-hour business center, conference room. Though built in the mid ’60s with only 11 rooms, they’ve certainly grown, but managed to retain that old world charm with new world amenities. And these amenities are almost always free, including children’s programs during parts of the year, weekly classes in hula and lei making, free snorkel gear (but no fins for some reason), putting greens with clubs, shuffle board, fitness room, kids eat free with paying adult, free hi-speed Internet in rooms and Wi-Fi in lobby, etc. Oddly, local calls are 50¢. The multi-level grounds are serene and well-groomed. They’re adjacent to Napili Beach, which is excellent, and Kapalua Beach isn’t a far walk. Their restaurant, Sea House, is also a winner and nearly on the beach. They have been renovating the rooms with pleasant results. Some buildings have adjoining lanais—great for families. The rooms from studio and up all have kitchenettes with large fridges.

They have weekly slack key guitar concerts that are very popular. Dinner for two by the ocean can be arranged on a secluded grassy area at the point for $450 per couple. This place is great to relax—the adopted cats think so, too. The biggest ding? All those freebies don’t come cheap. Hotel rooms (450–680 sq. ft.) are $240–$345, studios (450–680 sq. ft.) are $310–$440, 1/1s or 1/2s (575–870 sq. ft.) are $475–$670, 2/2s (960–1,250 sq. ft.) are $550–$995, 3/3s (2,040 sq. ft.—3 adjoining rooms) are $1,110–$1,260.
