196 rooms, pool, air conditioning only in the B rooms, elevator, restaurant and 2 shops, conference room, lanais on all but B rooms, daily maid service. A hard one to classify. The 8-story building looks and feels like a hotel, but it’s a condo and all rooms from the above agent are decorated similarly. Half the rooms, called A rooms, are approx. 604 sq. ft. condo-type 1/1s (meaning they have a kitchen) with excellent views south down the coast. B rooms (210 sq. ft.) are available as hotel-type rooms or added on to the A rooms to make a 2/2 unit. The B rooms by themselves have poorer views and no lanais. (Only the 7th and 8th floors rise above their neighbor.) 1/1s have sliding shoji doors separating the bedroom from the living room. The resort was built in 1973, but the common areas were recently remodeled to look like a trendy urban hotel. The rooms currently don’t match the hotel’s common areas but are very clean. Adjacent to an excellent beach (Keawakapu). Restaurant on premises is Five Palms. New management here seems to have helped the overall staff attitude. Rates are $158–$201 for hotel rooms, 1/1s are $242–$377, 2/2s are $294–$438. .
