79 units, pool and keiki pool, bbq, daily maid service, washer/dryers in the units, Wi-Fi, some have free room safes. The only resort on Maui that's on a semi-private beach since public access to it isn't very practical. That alone qualifies it for A Real Gem. The beach is very sandy and clear most of the time with good swimming when calm (though on occasion it gets yucky, and seaweed washes ashore). The resort has reasonably sized 1/1s downstairs and oddly laid out 2/2s on the second floor with lots of stairs. These 2/2s are townhouse-style, meaning two-story. Though the buildings aren't overly attractive, the resort has a good feel and is quiet for its size. The large lanais have no privacy, despite their brochure's claim of "private lanais." (Perhaps they mean others can't walk on them, but your next door neighbor can see you through the wide slats.) Though not cheap (you can do better with oceanfront on Napili Beach), it's a good place to stay. Building F was our favorite with the beach two steps away from the ground floor units. 1/1s (750 sq. ft.) are $165-$290, 2/2s (1,290 sq. ft.) are $250-$465. The second set of numbers has much better prices. Oceanfront 2/2s (Buildings A & F) actually have 2.5 baths.
