Maui Revealed: "What a wonderful guide book. Maps are great and directions very clear. We traveled to Maui for the first time in late Nov. We saw and did everything we set out to do following your book - including a few amazing hikes. " |
Ka'anapali Ocean Inn (800) 222-5642 or (808) 661-3611 2780-A Kekaa Dr. ![]() 59 rooms, coffee makers with free coffee daily. This 3-story 1962 walk-up building used to be the Royal Hale Tower (aka Royal Ocean Hale), part of the Royal Lahaina Resort. Think of it as the ugly step-sister to the Royal Lahaina. It’s drearier, more worn and rooms are in need of upgrading, but they’re relatively clean. Since it’s next to the lu‘au grounds at Royal Lahaina Resort, you get to hear the lu‘au every night (especially the odd numbered rooms). But you do have access to all the facilities and signing privileges at the Royal Lahaina Resort, except there is no Internet access. Parking is $10 per day, valet parking is $15, local calls and 800 numbers are an extra buck, and room safes are $3.95. You can pay a $16 per day optional fee to absorb these and add $5 more for valet parking. It’s the only budget place right on the beach at Ka‘anapali. Rooms (395 sq. ft.) are $125-$195. Check in is at the Royal Lahaina. |
