July 31-August 1
9th Annual Heiva I Kauai Iaorana Tahiti at Kapaa Beach Park a traditional welcoming ceremony will start the festivities. Gates open to the public at 9am and the solo competition begins at 10am. Solo categories are 'Ote'a vahine and tane, for junior, senior and master (age 26+) divisions. Group categories include 'Ote'a, Aparima, Ahupurotu, and Tahitian drumming. Group competition schedules will depend on the number of entries. Sunday, gates open at 9am and exhibition dancing begins at 10am with group competition continuing. Sunday will end with solo, group and drumming award presentations. Daily admission $5, children 6 and under free. Call (808) 822-9447.

2010 Kauai County Farm Bureau Fair at Vidinha Stadium in Lihu'e. Fun, Food, Farming and great entertainment for the family. Hours: Thursday & Friday from 6pm-midnight; Saturday from noon to midnight and Sunday from noon to 11pm. Entry fee applies.

Kauai Marathon and Half Marathon 26.2 miles total, the Kauai Marathon will go through coffee fields on four wheel drive dirt roads. Beautiful mountain and ocean vistas. 6am starting line will be in front of the Poipu Shopping Village on Poipu Beach Road.
